Construction excellent. Heavy. Not going to break into this easily. Once you figure out how, everything does work. The iphone charging is very finicky. Doesnt work half the time and very particular as to position. With the glass camera lens pushing up on the camera seems to make it worse.
The downside are the instructions. they are just wrong in many areas. Times are annoying. Its not 5 sec in several places where it says to hold a button, it is 2 sec and if you hold longer it wont work. Fingerprint setup difficult. It also doesnt unlock right away like most biometrics but you have to leave your figure on it for 2 sec. Took a while to figure that out. The extra parts (security cable, adapter...) are inside the safe. I was looking for them in the box and thought they were left out. Not in the directions. The QR code to take you to video setup doesnt work, LOL.
So, yes the hardware is 5star but the care in instructions and manual are 3 star.
Opens 100% of time with the fingerprint. Code and key there just in case. iPhone charger works. I wish the clock would stay on if you have if plugged in.
I have several biometric safes but this onee is perfect with the exception of phone charger. It does not work with my iPhone
I’m going to be honest, this is my first safe and I think it is perfect for me. I wanted to buy the Hornady safe which has similar options. I could not see myself spending $400 for a bedside. After so much searching and so freaking undecided. I came across the VT01, At first I was skeptical. With the lack of YouTube reviews, as my go to. Weeks deciding wether I should by it. I said F-it, so I bought it. I’m soooo, glad that I did. When I opened the box and saw the safe I was really happy with the look of it. Placed batteries in it and when I saw the digital display, oh man it just looks expensive for the fraction of the cost. My review is getting long winded, though I will leave you with this get the safe, you won’t be disappointed.. I really love the safe it was worth every penny. Will D.;)
I couldn’t be happier with this case. The display lights up when you touch it, then turns back off. The good: solid construction, cable included to lock it down, easy access to my firearm & kid-safe. The price is also very reasonable.
The not so good: the setup guide was completely wrong - I had to go to YouTube to set up the display timer & fingerprint setup. The fingerprint sensor works about 95% of the time the first time…it needs some engineering work.
Overall 5 stars despite of the ‘not so good’ stuff. Thank you for making this!
